So a few days back, Bob brought a bunch of board games to the hospital to help keep me distracted from this new reality of mine. In that time, we have played gin rummy, Scrabble, Sequence and Boggle... and he has beat me at ALL of them! I have requested that he bring in Uno but he says he doesn't like that game. So much for making me feel great!On other fronts, as Bob has said, I have been having less contractions each and every day. It has been so encouraging to be receiving less medication, less shots and ultimately, less attention from the nurses and doctors. As for Luke, he seems to be happy where he is, spending most of the day doing somersaults and hiding from the baby monitor that's strapped to my belly 24/7.
Almost every time Danny comes to visit, he brings his latest art projects which have made my room seem much less sterile and feel a tiny bit more like home. Overall, the days are going by quickly -- I can't believe that it's been almost a week since Mother's Day.
Time to go to bed, which is easy since I'm already here!
No Uno!? That's a deal breaker. Am I right ladies?

Do you play speed scrabble? It's a fun variation where you each start with 7 tiles and you have to make your own little crossword (not using the board). Whoever is done making it first says "take 2" and then everyone takes two more tiles and you either have to add or rearrange everything. First person with a complete crossword when all the tiles have been used up wins.

I am so glad to hear that the days are passing relatively quickly. And what an answer to prayer already that little Luke is still hanging tight. We will keep praying for things to go well and God's peace while you wait.
ReplyDeleteSo cute that you guys are playing board games! And Bob-Barron also refuses to play "certain" games with me, he claims that he just doesn't like those games. But, it's not a secret that those are the games that I always beat the pants off of him. I think it's time for a little Uno Bob. ;) Best-Kerry
